Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale was reading a book, it seems he had found the correct one after some hours of search. He shivered when he felt a sudden draft of cold air. He looked up somewhat puzzled. He had shut all the windows some time ago. Upon not seeing anything he goes back to his reading, though paranoia slowly begins to set in.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She sinks to the floor, bringing her knees to her chest and burying her face in her knees. It appears as if she were trying to disappear again, but not succeeding.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale finishes reading and frowns. "That's all? Damnit, I need more then that to go on." The Abbis lets out a sigh of frustration and stands. He begins to pace about the gigantic library, trying to think of where he could find the rest of the information he needed. He stops in his tracks when he sees Laena curled up in a ball against a corner. "....Has my mind trully decayed to the point where I can no longer percieve the line that divides the world of the mind and the world of reality, or are you trully here to haunt me as part of your punishment?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her shoulders shake slightly from choked sobs. "I... I am so sorry..."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Despite his insanity and grief, Gale was an Abbis, and naturally he loved to learn about the unknown. Despite how personal the situation was, he longed for a greater understand. "Why are you sorry? What do you have to be sorry for?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She takes a few minutes to continue crying before answering. "I am sorry.... I should never have caused you this much pain..."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale kneels down. "You responsible? No..never. You aren't to blame for my suffering. Those responsible shall perish soon enough, just as I promised they would. I only need a little time."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She finally glances at Gale. Her entire face is nothing but bone, and her eyes seem too small for their sockets. "What.. will happen to me?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The site was rather shocking to Gale, but his own mind was a terrifying place. Morbid and full of darkness. Thus he was not completely disturbed by the site. Though he found it shocking for the few moments he paused before speaking. "Both my pain and yours will end forever."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The shocked expression on his face causes her to hide her own behind her knees again. Despite what Gale has told her, she cannot help but repeat to herself how sorry she is.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale's curiosity finally gets the best of him. "Why is it that you remain a part of this world?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She coughs and shivers, as if her own aura were chilling her to the bone. "It is my damnation.. I can never rest in peace.."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale bowed his head solemnly and finally speaks. "You once told me I was to weak to carry out my plan. I was arrogant then, believing that I am unstopable. As almost everything has changed in these pase few days, I shall continue my evolution. There are those who will learn of my plan...and try to stop it. I cannot destroy all of them. I need...." Gale goes silent, he wasn't sure what he needed. First of all he needed the resources to devise his plan. Then he needed some sort of edge. All of these were accomplishable. He no longer had anything but time to spend.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena tries to speak, but a coughing fit racks her frail body. She involuntarily reaches out and tries to grab Gale's vest, but her hand goes right through his chest, chilling him to the bone. She gasps for air, then looks at Gale desperately, as if she were trying to tell him something.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale is befuddled by Laena's sudden shift in movement and it worries him, he doubted ghosts, or whatever Laena was, acted diffrently so suddenly without cause. "What is it? Are you trying to tell me something?" Gale was unsure what else he could do but speak.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She clutches her chest in pain, still coughing deeply. In between gasps she manages to say what sounds like "library".
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale raises an eyebrow. This was already a very strange situation, now it just kept getting more bizzare. "What about the library? What is it you're trying to say?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She takes a deep breath, and holds it. The coughing fit has stopped, so she speaks. "A library.. No mortal has ever set foot in it.. It can help you.." Another coughing fit begins.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale intrest sparks. Chances were he could find something there. "How do I get there?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Tears of agony run down her face. "We.. we passed it up on the way to the Angel city.. Ruins.. of a graveyard.. There's only one grave left... That's the entrance.."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Now that had an idea what his next move would be his face shows worry. This particular facial expression was one of the rarest for him. Even if Laena was dead, feelings don't perish as quickly. "What's wrong? Why are you in so much pain?" "Well, considering she's eternally damned I'd guess about everything, but this doesn't seem normal. Especially for the dead.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"The gods.. They.. don't want you to know about the library..." Her voice cracks at the last syllable and she leans up against the wall, writhing slightly.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale bows his head. "I'm sorry that I caused you more suffering, Laena." At first "seeing" Laena brought comfort to the Abbis, but seeing her suffering that she would endure for eternity was beginning to cause him even more pain. He reasurred himself that it would soon be over and that neither of them would have this pain anymore, and all he had to do was formulate his plan and carry it out.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It's okay.. I'm.. more than willing.." A cry escapes her lips, and she sinks to the ground, then disappears.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale felt a bit of guilt over the whole ordeal but he quickly shook off such emotions. He had no time for them. He picked up Sin and prepared to leave again.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
A soft, unnatural thunk echoes through the woods to the north of the castle and into the library as Gale prepares to leave. There is a slight pause, then a low whistle from directly overhead.
The castle's southwest tower shatters in thunderous roar that shakes the entire building. Chunks of stone scatter out from the base and a geyser of rock and dust shoots upward as the blast dissipates and the structure crumbles. At almost the same time, the castle's front gate blows apart, showering the grounds with two-foot long splinters. A thin arc of smoke streaks across this scene and collides with the front door, blasting it to shreds as well. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The blasts rock the castle and Gale runs to the front doors. "Damnit, who the hell is it this time?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
A dark figure with a sword at his side walks into the thinning dust that was once the castle gate and stops, apparently sighting Gale beyond the blasted front door. Nyx's voice rings out in the contrasting silence of the blasts. "Hello again, Gale!"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Did your big brother sic you on me?" Gale let's out a smile, his eyes are darker and his voice seems somewhat more venemous then the last time they encountered each other.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I know of no such thing. Kyushin minds himself rather than the dealings of those as petty as us." Men clad in black nylon armor and visored helmets take up positions on either side of Nyx, assault rifles raised. The thunk from the forest repeats itself, and a second mortar crashes down on the roof of the castle, blowing a hole into clear through to the top floor. "I've come to finish what I started. This time it ends, Gale."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Soldiers? Please. Those didn't work last time either. Couldn't offer up something more intresting? Oh it's of no consequence. Fury One, or Kyushin and you seem to call him, has also be giving me trouble. I'll be sure to dump his corpse next to yours." Gale eyes the soldiers, expecting them to attack first.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Nyx scoffs and makes a subtle gesture with his hand to the soldiers. In unison, they lower their weapons and click the safety. "I have something better this time, of course." He raises the sword in his right hand and summons a wide lightning bolt that strikes the grass halfway between them in a brilliant flash. Large balls of energy and sparks shower out from the strike and fade away, revealing a massive creature at least twenty feet tall. It stands on two sharply angled dark green tyrannosaurus legs with three jagged black talons on each foot. A long tail extends out to a razorlike edge behind it, connected to a torso that looks encased in an armored shell, jagged and angled like the legs. The head resembles an arrowhead with a broad grey beak for a point and two pitch-black eyes sunk in the wings. Two short arms extend from the plated shoulders, ending in clawed three-fingered hands that seem delicate when compared to the rest of the creature. As it stands there, bolts of static roll across its armored surface, crackling angrily.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale let's out a chuckle, he's amused by Nyx's newest effort. "Christmas present from daddy? Or did you steal this on your own?" Gale waits for the Synthetic Demon to strike. He didn't know how Rand classified them. Gale remembered Doomsday being a class but that was all. Either way, he'd delt with one's smaller then this one, and barely walked away. However, now he had something to take his surpressed rage on. Something that could die. Gale was quite willing to fight this behemoth. Sin gleamed with a crimson glow and Gale took a stance.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The demon opens its wide beak and lets out a screech that hits like a solid steel wall, shattering every piece of glass in the castle instantly. Bolts of electricity gather in its right claw and form into a surging ball of energy. It draws its arm back and flings the blast at Gale, which shoots out like a lightning bolt and explodes in bright flash on impact.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The wind cracks and changes directions. Gale dives by the beast's head and slashes, testing how vunerable it is to a sword.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Sin crashes into the demon's heavy armor with a shower of sparks and bounces off with the sharp sound of metal striking metal, jerking Gale's arm around. The blade resonates at it's natural frequency in protest of the blow, sending chills down Gale's spine. The demon, somewhat annoyed by this, swings a clawed hand at Gale as he passes and lets out a short growl.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale is caught by the blow and sent into the ground. He quickly rises spitting a bit of blood out of his mouth. "Intresting, this one is diffrent then the past ones. Fortunately, all things of this world are flawed." Gale's left hand grows red and he slowlys backs away.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Curious with Gale's slow retreat, the creature turns its mass around to face him and begins to follow. Waves of energy concentrate into the demon's right hand and bolts of electricity gather in it's palm, forming a swirling ball of lightning.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale tapes Sin with his red hand and the blade turns red as well. The wind cracks and Gale charges at the beast's torso, attempting to stab into the armor with Sin.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Caught by surprise, it snarls and launches the prepared attack at the quickly diminishing ground between him and Gale. The ball flashes on impact and erupts into a mountain of light and electricity, whiting out Gale's view of the monster.
